Call Me, Maybe was a fun and light hearted read. I enjoyed reading this book but it had some things which frustrated the hell out of me as well.

While accompanying her brother for a work, Clementine’s phone switches up at the airport with a handsome stranger, coincidentally with the one she stumbled upon earlier in the airport. They decide to exchange their phones when they return to town. But till then, they can’t stop talking with each other and it quickly escalates into something more. But Clementine’s hiding a big secret- her actual identity from him and to supress one lie she keeps on telling another. But when the truth comes out, will Justin give her a second chance or will it destroy everything they had?

The blurb seemed quite interesting and that’s why I didn’t hesitate to accept this book when Loveswept’s message popped into my email. So, the plot was definitely interesting, Clementine and Justin found a connection with each other due to their little incident. I liked Justin’s sense of humour and that’s what appealed to Clementine as well. Both of them couldn’t stop talking with each other and they decided to continue their “relationship” when they finally met as well. But Clementine is quite loaded, i.e. she is freaking rich, she hides this truth from him because of some previous mistake and also she didn’t want to think of her differently. It was okay at the beginning but she kept on repeating her mistakes and telling lies upon lies to cover the previous ones. It was seriously frustrating, she clearly knew what the outcome would be if Justin learned the truth but she kept doing it. Rule number one in any relationship- a relationship is not possible if it’s based on lies and she seemed to be doing that only.

But nonetheless, their relationship was really sweet and I enjoyed the chemistry between them. But I think it moved a bit too fast, specially with the “L” word. Clementine’s relationship with her grandparents was a bit bitter and tight. I could totally understand where she was coming from but Justin was really sweet and he proved that he was worthy but still she kept on her false charade. Because of this I couldn’t totally connect with her character. When things blew up, I didn’t think anything was possible, she even herself admitted that she wouldn’t have forgiven him if he had done this to her. But nonetheless, I was somewhat satisfied because it ended on a positive note.

Overall, Call Me, Maybe was an interesting read, whereas the plot was executed neatly, I had difficulty in connecting with the character but nonetheless I enjoyed the romance between Justin and Clementine. It was fast paced and the writing was simple and easy to read. Despite having quite a few flaws I ended up enjoying this book.
