This book was adorably cute! I’m not making much sense but what I want to say is that I absolutely loved it to bits! When I requested it, I didn’t know this book wasn’t a standalone, I learned about it while browsing Goodreads later. And well, the ending was completely frustrating because well, it just ended! And the next book comes out in November!! Someone help me please! I can’t wait this long… *sobs*

Ahem! Well moving forward with the review…

It’s always been Willa and her father against the world ever since her mom passed away. But one day when her father returns from a business trip, he announces out of the blue that he has decided to marry and he’s already engaged to none other than one of her favourite actress. Overnight, her whole life changes. But that’s not all, she learns that she would have a new stepbrother as well. Willa is not ready for such a drastic change and things start to become more complicated when she finds herself falling for her annoying soon-to-be-stepbrother. How will Willa handle everything?

I haven’t read much stepbrother romance yet so I decided to start with this one plus it screamed of forbidden romance, so yep! I could not pass it up. I’m glad this book lived upto my expectations because I absolutely fell head over heels in love with it. The plot was executed perfectly. Willa’s life spirals out of control when her father decides to marry an actress who is also known as Hollywood’s heartbreaker. She is genuinely afraid that her father’s heart would be broken again and this time she won’t be able to handle it as it was quite difficult when her mother passed away. She gets completely freaked out because she knows she won’t be able to have the normal life she loved. Sometimes it did seem she acted like a total brat, but if I were in her shoes I would have completely freaked out as well so I totally get it where she was coming from.

And I really hated her father, he completely dropped the bomb on her that he was set to marry and she had to meet his finance right now, instead of calmly discussing it with his daughter first. I mean who does that! Both her father and Finn’s mother were acting childish than being actual good functional parents. It seemed like they were living in their happy little bubble whereas Willa and Finn were going through so much turmoil and inner conflict. Also, I don’t know what I feel about Damien, Willa’s school crush. Does he genuinely like her or is it because of her sudden fame? We sure will get to know this later but whatever, I still want him out of the picture because I want FILLA!! (This is such a weird ship name guys! 😛 )

I absolutely loved Willa! She was a strong and caring person. Although she was completed freaked out about her situation, she was trying her best to cope up with everything but with Finn in the view it was quite difficult. I liked Finn so, so much. He was cocky and acted like a douchebag but as we got to know him, I understood the inner turmoil he was going through as well. Underneath he was just a sweet and adorable guy. They both hated each other, atleast wanted to, but they were falling hard for each other as well. Although there was not much romance between these two but there was some undeniable chemistry which I absolutely loved.

Overall, How Willa Got Her Groove Back was an amazing read. The plot was executed really well and I fell in love with the characters. The writing was simple and easy to read. I quite liked the alternating POVs where we got Willa’s perspective in 1st person and Finn’s in 3rd person. The pace was even throughout the book. And umm… I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK!!
