Disclaimer: This Entangled Teen Crush book contains a kickass heroine, a boy so hot he’ll make you shiver, and a falling-in-love story fit for the big screen. You’ll want to settle in and have the popcorn ready.
After Mariely Hinojosa and Cabot Wheeler both break up with their significant others at the same party, Mariely sees a way to get even with both of their exes. Everyone knows that the best way to get over a breakup is a hookup— a fake hookup, that is. Three weeks, all fun, no strings, and definitely no heartbreak at the end.
But somewhere between the sweet hand-holding and melt-your-mind kisses, their fake relationship starts to feel less like an act and more like the real thing…but Mariely’s a free-spirited girl from the other side of the tracks, and Cabot’s the hot trust-fund guy from the Hills.
They’d never work for real…
This book was fairly pretty interesting and I liked how everything unfolded, I especially loved Cabot’s character. Though despite everything I just felt a tini-tiny thing was missing, I couldn’t exactly identify what it was but nonetheless I hope that little bit of doubt will vanish when I read the next book in this series.
This book was about Mariely and Cabot. They both learn a horrific (well… sort of) truth about their respective partners in one of Cabot’s party. But when Cabot’s ex-girlfriend causes more trouble, Mariely comes up with a plan which Cabot spices up into something more- a fake dating plan to keep both the parties jelous and at bay as well and they would go their separate ways after the school dance. But what happens when their fauxmance begins to turn into something more?
Sooo… this was utterly cute! I absolutely loved the idea of fake dating and how the author handled everything. Mariely was a relatable character, she was sweet, caring yet vulnerable. She was really hurt when she found the truth about her boyfriend, well any girl would be. Despite that fact she handled everything maturely, though fake dating was something of a bit extreme but I loved how she did not purposely hurt his ex-boyfriend because the reason was umm… a bit different and slowly but steadily she accepted the truth.
Cabot… he was a pretty awesome guy. I loved how straight forward he was. I mean usually both the parties don’t let the other know about their true feelings and they are miserable but I loved how Cabot confessed how he felt about her. It was really something! I liked their chemistry but as I previously said I felt there was just something missing which I could not exactly figure out. Willa is Mariely’s BFF. I absolutely adored her. I loved her in How Willa Got Her Groove Back and I was so exited to see her here and what a great friend she was! Yes, she was a bit worried about the whole fake dating thing but I loved how she let Mariely handle everything and just stood by her side no matter what.
Overall, Crazy, Stupid, Fauxmance was a light and fun hearted read. The writing was simple and easy to read and the pace was even throughout the book. Although we get a temporary HEA in this book but I’m so exited to read what happens next in their life. I bet there will be plenty of new trouble and what not. Cannot wait to find out!
