Blurb (from Goodreads):
Twenty–two-year-old Ari Munoz prefers to keep men at an arms’ length. So when her best friend Vonne guilts her into going to a frat party, she couldn’t think of a worse way to spend her night. That’s until she sparks the interest of love’em and leave’em Ben Rodriguez. She knows she shouldn’t trust him, but the electricity she feels when they lock eyes is something she’s never felt before.
Twenty-two-year-old Ben Rodriguez has it all, and his senior year marks the beginning of even bigger things to come. He’s a football star, fraternity president, and his endless pick of beauties makes him the envy of all of his frat brothers. So why is a pair of long legs and hazel eyes making him want to throw out his rules?
Ari has her secrets.
Ben has his rules.
What happens when both your pasts threaten your future?
Say Something…
*This novel contains adult themes and language. 18+ please. This is book one in a series and contains a cliffhanger.*
Say Something was your typical NA read where the guy is popular and a jock but falls for the quite and shy girl. But I can’t say that I didn’t like it because I sure did.
Ben is in his final year of college, he is a football star, and the head of his fraternity. He doesn’t do relationships either but something changes when he sees Ari for the first time in a party. They both can’t stay away from each other. Although they are both scared of this new feelings but nonetheless they decide to give them a shot and but will happen when Ari’s past resurfaces?
Well… that’s my question as well because this book ended in a huge cliffhanger, though I was already warned in the blurb but still it felt huge! Okay, let’s come back to the beginning before we talk about the end, shall we? So, the book started off pretty good, although the plot was predictable but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Ben has never been in an actual relationship but with Ari, he starts wanting more. For both of them, it’s a complete new territory but they both decide to give it a try. I really loved these two together, they had perfect chemistry and the romance was pretty hawt!
I basically loved all the characters in this book. Ari was a great character, she was sweet and caring and I loved her with Ben. I most definitely enjoyed the family aspect of this book as well, yes.. although it was not much but I loved every bit of what I got. Ari had a past that she never told anyone but she finally confessed to Ben after he witnessed her repeated nightmares about how she was abused by her piano teacher when she was just 7 years old. That was… just heartbreaking. She never told anyone because that asshole teacher told her everybody would hate her and she was just a child, she got easily manipulated. BUT… this past resurfaces in the last chapter right before this book ends!! God… I really need the second book… like right now!
Overall, Say Something was a great read. Although the plot was predictable but I enjoyed reading it, the characters were pretty great as well. I loved the romance between Ari and Ben and I can’t wait to see more of it. Nonetheless, the writing was great and pretty smooth and the pace was even throughout the book. This book left me in a lot of suspense and that won’t be solved unless and until I read book 2. Hopefully, I can read it soon.
Recommend it?

This sounds like your classic NA novel! Perfect and simple plot. 😀 One reason I love NA is that even though the plot is always similar to others, the characters and romance always make up for it! Great review Poulami! 😀
