Blurb (from Goodreads):

Chloe Stone’s life is a hot mess. Determined to stop being so freaking skittish, she packs up her quasi-famous best friend and heads to Florida. The goal? Complete the summer bucket list to end all bucket lists. The problem? Her hot soon-to-be stepbrother, Landon Jacobs.

Landon’s mom will throttle him if he even looks at his future stepsister the wrong way. Problem is, Chloe is everything he didn’t know he wanted, and that’s…inconvenient. Watching her tear it up on a karaoke stage, stand up to his asshole friend, and rock her first string bikini destroys his sanity.

But there’s more than their future family on the line. Landon is hiding something—something he knows will change how she feels about him—and she’s hiding something from him, too. And when the secrets come out, there’s a good chance neither will look at the other the same way again…

This book was a fun ride but I expected more from it. There were definitely some moments which surprised me which ultimately made this an enjoyable read.

Chloe along with her best friend Jenna goes to Florida to stay at her father’s for the summer where she gets to meet her soon-to-be-stepbrother, Landon. Chloe and Landon both finds themselves attracted to each other, more than they should, considering they are going to be family soon but they can’t resist it. Both of them hiding secrets, what will they do when it threatens to come out?

I enjoyed the plot of this story but it was quite predictable. Nonetheless, I did like the way it was executed. Chloe along with her best friend Jenna visits her father and his fiancee and her soon-to-be-stepbrother. They are not at all what she was expecting. I loved Landon’s family, her mother could be a little over bearing at times but she was pretty good. Landon was a pretty great guy, he was not at all the overbearing and douchy type, instead he was quite cool and caring. It was a refreshing change. I liked Chloe as well, she was a nice protagonist and I hated what she had to go through. I loved how she maturely handled the Monica situation, it was quite a surprise. And last but not the least, I loved Jenna, she was a super awesome best friend, always ready to stand up for her best friend no matter what. I am excited to see what the next book in this series brings.

I liked how Chloe and Landon’s relationship developed slowly. There was no rush but I felt the spark was missing. Their romance was sweet but there was a lack of chemistry which kind of let me down because I was expecting more angsty stuff since it hinted forbidden romance. Nonetheless I did like these two together. I absolutely loved the family aspect of this story and the list Chloe and Jenna made to boost up Chloe’s confidence was pretty fun as well. I loved how she slowly accomplished each of them.

Overall, The Summer Before Forever was a fun read. Although the plot was predictable, the characters were pretty awesome. But I expected more chemistry between our main characters, Chloe and Landon. The writing was smooth and easy to read and the pace was even throughout the book.
