The Ultimate Game of Thrones BOOK TAG & The Unique Blogger Award!!

Credit: Source

Thank you so much, Juhi @ Girl Who Reads for tagging me in The Ultimate Game of Thrones BOOK TAG! Go check out her blog people!

Confession time!! I never watched GoT before this year. *gasp* I know, shush… I started watching since the middle of June on a whim and I was hooked from episode 1, and now I only have already finished season 6, so I’ll probably start watching season 7 from today!! I’m sooo freaking excited!! But binge watching was seriously fun! Now, onto the tag…

Rules:

  • Mention the creator: Orang-utan Librarian.
  • Answer ALL of the questions.
  • Be a Lannister and pay your debts, tag people and keep it going!

PART ONE: BOOK QUESTIONS!

1. We do not sow – A book you would not be willing to invest in:

The Heir by Kiera Cass. I recently finished the Selection trilogy and for me, it was a meh read, this series has been collecting dust on my shelf for more than a year after I read book 1, so I decided to finish with America and Maxon’s story but I have no interest in knowing about their daughter and the same thing all over again. Once was enough for me.

2. Fire and blood – A book that produced strong emotions in you:

Bully by Penelope Douglas. I read this back in February and I remember what a heap of a mess I was while reading this book.

3. Winter is coming – Your favourite winter read:

Everything, Everything by Nichola Yoon. This book was just adorable and I fangirled so much. The chemistry between the two main leads was just awesome! You can read my review here.

4. Family. Duty. Honour – A book about strong family ties:

I have to go with Lady Midnight or Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare on this one. This book not only has an epic romance but it deals with so much of the family aspect. I fell in love with Julian more and more and I loved how he took care of his brothers and sisters. You can read my review Lady Midnight, here and Lord of Shadows, here.

5. Growing strong – A book you had low expectations of but grew on you:

The Perfectly Imperfect Match by Kendra C. Highley. The book I read before this one was pretty meh, so I kept my expectations low for this one but ended but absolutely falling in love with it. You can read my review here.

6. Ours is the fury – A book that made you furious:

Red Days by M.L. Sparrow. Well, this book was pretty good, but it was based on true incidents about the Dolphin slaughter in Japan which still happens pretty much to this day, it made me so much angry that someone could do that to dolphins. It is simply, utterly disgusting. You can read my review here.

7. Unbowed, unbent, unbroken – A book you have an unwavering devotion to:

I think I have to go with The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare on this one. ❤ I love this series to death!! I will always have a special place for this series in my heart, just like my Winchesters. You can read my review here.

8. A Lannister always pays his debts – A book you feel indebted to:

The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum. This was the first book that sparked my interest for reading.

PART 2: FAN THEORIES

Who do you want to win Game of Thrones?

I seriously hope it is Daenerys Targaryen with the Starks by their side.

Who do you think will make it to the end and who do you think will die?

I think Arya will live. I mean, I hope so, I love her character. And dead, maybe every freaking body? XD Maybe, Jaime Lannister will end up dead but due to a good cause I guess, because I am enjoying his character growth (though I have heard it’s rather nothing compared to the book about how his character transformed and I intend to find that out!)

PART 3: MY GAME OF THRONES

Would you win or die?

Haha! What do you think? Though I occasionally surprise myself, so I think I have a 50/50 chance.

What house are you?

House Targaryen (yay!!), according to this quiz.

Thanks to Raven @ Dreamy Addictions and Liesje @ A Thousand Lives for nominating me for The Unique Blogger Award! Don’t forget to check out their wonderful blog guys!

The Rules:

  • Share the link of the blogger who has shown love to you by nominating you.
  • Answer the questions.
  • In the spirit of sharing love and solidarity with our blogging family, nominate 8-13 people for the same award.
  • Ask them 3 questions.

Raven’s Questions:

1.What are your top three favourite books so far in 2017?

2.What inspired you to start your blog?

I practically have no bookish friends in real life, so when I found out so many people were involved in book blogging, I found this was something for me too. Blogging provided me with a wonderful platform and in the meantime, I have not only discovered so many great books but made many friends on the way too.

3.Can you name some of your favourite bloggers and explain why they are your favourites?

I am going to mention only three here because if I start, there won’t be any stopping me. 😀 Please don’t think you aren’t my favourite just because I couldn’t include you in my little list.

Raven @ Dreamy Addictions || Lauren @ SERIESous Book Reviews || Summer @ XingSings

These three have stuck with me from the very beginning. They are easy to talk to and our bookish choices match 99% of the time. I love Raven’s recommendations and most of them end up being my favourite. Lauren’s series reviews are just awesome, it makes it so easy to understand a series if I’m planning to read it and Summer’s book reviews are elaborate which makes it easy to understand if it’s usually my cup of tea or not.

Liesje’s Questions:

1. What do you like most about being a (book)blogger?

Fangirling!! Interacting with other bloggers and mostly fangirling!

2. Which bookstagram accounts are your favourite?

Darquedreamer || Reviews from a Bookworm || Readxings || My Books and Life || Booknerd Reads

3. What distracts you easily when you’re reading?

Well, usually it doesn’t anymore. I don’t switch on the internet or do any other thing when I am reading. This might be the only thing I can do without procrastinating.

Phew!! This was a loooong post! I don’t have it in me to tag anymore, so please feel free to tag yourself in you wanna do one of this or both of this! ❤

So, guys, so we have any books in common or any same favourites?

The Reading Habits Tag and the Encouraging Thunder Award!

Thank you Dee @ The Bookish Khaleesi for tagging me to do The Reading Habits Tag! Let’s jump right in, shall we…

Do you have a certain place at home for reading?

Bed. It’s always my soft squishy bed.

Bookmark or random piece of paper?

I always have a bookmark by my side, so I don’t need to use any random piece of paper or anything.

Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/a certain amount of pages?

I can’t stop before I finish a chapter but sometimes if I can’t stay awake anymore or if any emergency comes up which rarely happens, but then I guess I have to finish a certain portion before I can keep the book down.

Do you eat or drink while reading?

Nope! I don’t usually eat or drink while reading. My mom’s gets angry if I do two things at once and also there’s always the fear of I staining my precious book with my food, so it’s better to keep my babies away while I’m snacking!

Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?

Nah! I can’t concentrate on reading (or writing) if anything’s on. It really distracts me and I end up focusing on nothing.

One book at a time or several at once?

I usually read two books together, one paperback while the other ebook, it kind of helps to maintain the balance. I read my paperbacks mostly during the daytime and during the night when I switch off the light, I like to get cozy with my ebooks! XD

Reading at home or everywhere?

Mostly at home I guess but I always have a book by my side wherever I go.

Reading out loud or silently in your head?

I prefer silently. In my head.

Do you read ahead or even skip pages?

I very rarely skim through some portions if I find a part of the book boring. But I also have the bad habit of reading the ending before I even reach the end. It’s such a bad habit and I have quite restrained it a lot but it’s still there.

Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?

Ohmygosh! Absolutely keeping it like shiny and sparkly new as possible!

Do you write in your books?

No, no absolutely not. I love it neat and clean!

Thank you so much Raven @ Dreamy Addictions for nominating me for the Encouraging Thunder Award!

How it goes down:

  • Thank the person who nominated you.
  • Post the Encouraging Thunder logo.
  • Mention your purpose in blogging.
  • Nominate others for the award.

Sooo…. although I started my blog on an impulse at midnight, my main purpose is to share my thoughts with the bookish community because I don’t have any friends in real life who shares the same love for books as me. I love connecting with the other book lovers out here and fangirling the hell out of a book. It’s been a great experience so far! I have learnt so many new things since I have started a blog so I would definitely say this has been one of the best decisions ever!

I tag and nominate:

Sooo guys, do we have any habits in common? What is your main purpose of blogging? Share your thoughts with me!

Uh.. well judgemental freaks mostly!

9. What’s your favorite food?

Shrimp malaikari which my mom makes. It’s the most delicious thing ever and she just makes it to beyond perfection!

Thanks to Summer @ Xingsings and Analee @ Book Snacks for tagging me in the Summertime Madness Tag! It’s kind of always summer in India and I’m kind of mad so I though this would be the perfect tag for me to do!

1. Show a book with a Summery cover! i.e Sun, Beach etc.

adorkable-final

I love this cover, it’s cute and summery! And this was such a quick and a fun read. You can read my review for this book here.

2. Pick one fictional place that would be the perfect destination for your Summer Vacation!

I’m not going to say Hogwarts everytime sooo… well I mostly read books from the dystopia genre so I definitely do not want to go in those worlds.

How about we settle for Narnia this time. I’ve always wanted to go there. 😀

3. You’re about to go on a flight to your Summer Vacation. But you want to read a book that lasts for the whole flight so what novella do you choose?

29619057

4. You have a case of Summertime Sadness what happy book do you pick up to shine a smile on your face?

19547856

Well… definitely Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli. It’s suuuuch a good read and it’ll being smile to anybody’s face who reads it.

5. You’re sitting at the beach all alone…which fictional character would be your beach babe?

7171637

Right now… I’m so badly crushing on Will Herondale from The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare. So yep! Definitely him! ❤

6. To match your ice cream you want an icy cool sidekick! Which fictional sidekick do you pick?

I’ll pick Izzy from The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. She’s super awesome and a great character and I think we could make a great team. Well, at least in my mind!

I nominate & tag:

(As always, feel free to ignore this if you’ve already done it or simply don’t want to)

Blogger Recognition Award & Fall Time Cozy Time Book Tag!

Hellooooo everybody! I’m back with a long overdue tag and award post. 😀

Blogger Recognition Award!

Thank you so much Sydney @ Books and Stuff and Rabbit Ears Productions for nominating me for The Blogger Recognition Award! *bows down*

The Rules:

  • Write a post to show off your award! Give out a brief story about how your blog got started and give some advice to new bloggers about the blogging world.
  • Thank the person who nominated you and give out a link to their blog. Then, list the names of the people you will nominate. Comment on each blog and let them know you’ve nominated them. Provide a link to the award post you created.
  • Provide a link to the original post on Edge of Night. That way, anyone can find the original guidelines and post if needed, and we can keep it from mutating and becoming confusing!

Story of my Life (I mean my Blog’s):

My story is like soo unique, I bet you’ve never ever heard of it. Nah! Not really! 😛

So, I was introduced to Goodreads by one of my internet friend, Nada. (Really what would I do without my internet peeps! Seriously you guys are awsome!) Then gradually, I started rating them and then I slowly began to notice that thousands of people write reviews for each book. And most of them have a blog as well where they post their reviews with various other bookish stuff. So after seeing these, I wanted to be a part of the book blogging community as well and viola! This blog was born! Really, I started this blog on an impulse but I don’t regret it. 😉

My Advice:

Really? You  want that people? 😛

Great!

Okay…so umm if you are starting out new, the most important factor is to interact with everybody. Comment on their blogs, talk to them and in this way people will know you are a part of this community.

And secondly, always remember that you are blogging for yourself. So don’t pressurise yourself to post everyday, do it when you want to and don’t forget to have fun! 🙂

Fall Time Cozy Time Book Tag!

Thanks to Raven @ Dreamy Addictions for tagging me for the Fall Time Cozy Time Book Tag! (Her header for this post is so pretty, that’s why I decided to borrow it!)

Crunching Leaves

The world is full of colour – Book that has a red/orange/yellow cover?

I’ll go with Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. It has a bit of both yellow and red. 🙂

Cozy Sweater

Book that gives you the warm fuzzies?

Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli. I recently read this book and it was sooo damn good and it gave me all the feels! Seriously, everybody in this planet should read this book. (And if you alien people are reading this, I would totally recommend to you people as well. Go for it!)

Fall Storm

Favourite book or genre for a rainy day?

Something light and romantic maybe. But it all depends on my mood. (Pssst! It’s raining right now!)

Cool Crisp Air

The coolest character that you would love to trade places with?

Anna Whitt from the Sweet Trilogy by Wendy Higgins or Isabelle Lightwood from The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. Anna is sweet and strong and definitely cool. Plus I would get Kaiden if I exchange places with her. *swoons* And Izzy, hands down, she’s one of the most sassy and awsome character I’ve ever read. It would be bloody awsome if I could trade place with her. 😀

Hot Apple Cider

An under-hyped book that should become the next best thing?

I have no idea but I’ll go with Cinder & Ella by Kelly Oram. Avoid the cover! Other than that this book was reeeeaally good people.

Coat, Scarves and Mittens

Fall is the time to cover up – book that has an embarrassing cover that you would keep hidden in public?

Wallbanger by Alice Clayton maybe? I mean I definitely can’t flaunt reading this book in public for sure. BUT this book this awsome and hilarious and contains some sizzling chemistry and pretty great characters. I wholeheartedly recommend it to everybody.

Pumpkin Spice

Favourite fall time comfort food/drink?

Yeah? One word. Chocolate. Anything chocolate. Really. (I’m really craving for a chocolate donut right now!)

Warm, Cozy Bonfire

Spread the cozy warmth – Who do you tag? (I’m also nominating these wonderful people for the Blogger Recognition Award as well.)

That’s it for today! Meet you people in the next post!

The Desert Island Book Tag & the Beautiful Blogger Award!

Hey there lovely people! How are you all doing?

I was fully exhausted after my Selection exams finished and I took a day off from Internet and omg, there were more than 200 emails for me to check, mostly WordPress notifications! I was more exhausted by merely looking at it! 😛 Although I think I mighy be halfway through it or maybe not…

Anyways, I hope you people are having a great week! And now, I present-

PicsArt_1453382129165

Once upon a time I was tagged for the Desert Island Book Tag! Thanks to these lovely ladies of AlwaysOpinionatedGirl and Analee @ Book Snacks for tagging me. Check out their awsome blogs!

So, without further ado, here are the questions-

1. Water: A Book You Can’t Live Without

I can not live without any of my babies! Okay, so maybe The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare or Saven: Deception by Siobhan Davis. I have a feeling I’m going to love this series. Yeah, sue me, I can’t choose one! 😀

2. Food: A Book That is a Close Second on Your Favourites List

What a cruel question! *sighs* But I have to go with one right? Hmm… I think I’ll choose The Reluctant Sacrifice by Kerr-Ann Dempster or The Girlfriend Request by Jodie Andrefski for this one. Both of these books were totally different and mind blowing. I think I cheated again! Oopsie…

3. Shelter: A Book That Makes You Feel at Home and Safe

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell comes to my mind when I think of the word home and safe.

4. Flare Gun: A Book You Would Recommend to Someone Who Doesn’t Read

Well, it would definitely depend on what kind of thing that person likes. So maybe something short and sweet like Coraline by Neil Gaiman or How To Say I Love You Out Loud by Karole Cozzo.

5. Fire Matches: A Book That Warms Your Heart

I recently finished Cinder & Ella by Kelly Oram and it was a freaking fantastic heartwarming read and it felt oh, so real! I was an emotional mess while reading this book and that last speech just melted my heart!

6. Compass: A Book That Directed You to Your Love of Reading

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum. It was actually an unabridged version with lots of beautiful illustrations but this book sparked my love of reading and I kinda buyed all the books available in that store after finishing this one.

Real Neat Blog Award

screenshot_2015-04-28-23-03-46_1
So once upon a time I was nominated for the Real Neat Blog Award by two lovely ladies- Bhramori @The Crazy Perfectionist and Kimsiang @The Spines Breaker. Thank you so much guys. People, go and check out the blogs of my two bloggy sisters!

So finally I sorted out all the tags and awards I have received in the past months and OMG! There are like 27-28 tags+awards to do in total! It’s gonna take me more than a year to do all those! OH MY GOSH! Seriously! That’s what you get for being lazy! But still I have got a valid excuse, I had many review posts to do so I didn’t find time to do them but I promise I will finish all of them.

Okay, so I’m not gonna waste any further time and dive straight into the award.

The Rules:

  • Put the award logo on your blog.
  • Thank the people who nominated you, linking to their blog.
  • Nominate any number of bloggers you like, linking to their blogs.
  • Answer 7 questions asked by the person who nominated you.
  • Ask 7 questions of your own, for your nominees to answer.

Questions by Bhramori:

1. What’s your favourite word?

Incendium! I doubt it’s even an actual word. I first heard it in Vampire Diaries where Bonnie(the witch) uses it to poof or destroy things so wherever I see any creepy crawlies I say, well literally shout Incendium like it’s actually gonna work! 😛

2. Is there any book that you’d rather no one reads?

No. I never say don’t read that book just because I didn’t like it. Different people have different taste so what I didn’t like, they may end up loving it so why discourage them.

3. Your favourite thing about yourself?

Uuuh… umm I don’t easily give up on anything, not without trying my hardest.

4. Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 57 and tell us the first sentence from there (you might choose another sentence from the page if you feel you’re giving away a spoiler)

I bought Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell, it just arrived a few hours ago and it’s still on my bed.

The batteries started to die at 1:00 a.m., but Eleanor kept listening for another hour until the voiced slowed to a stop.

Tell you what, that’s the only line in page 57! 😛

5. Who’s your favourite singer? Favourite song(s) from him/her?

Taylor Swift and Shreya Ghosal. I have too many favourite songs from these two people so I’m gonna name only one for each of them.
TS- Blank Space
SG- Hasi from Humari Adhuri Kahani

6. If you were asked to kill a character, who’d be the very first on your mind? What if you were asked to save a character who has died? What’s the first name coming to your mind now? 😉

Voldemort maybe? But where’s the fun in that. A book or a show is not completely without an epic villian, is it? And I would definitely save Fred Weasley from Harry Potter in a heartbeat.

7. Which is your most hated fictional OTP – the one that you hope didn’t exist at all?

I can’t think of one…oh wait, Stefan and Elena from the Vampire Diaries.

Questions by Kimsiang:

1. Which are two of your favorite careers and why?

Oh, definitely being an author and a singer!

2. 5 countries on your must-go list?

Paris, London, New York, Rome and Greece.

3. Hardbacks, paperbacks or ebooks?

I love aaaaall. Seriously. But if I have to choose it’s paperback then.

4. Name 3 apps on your phone you check regularly.

Goodreads, Whatsapp, All my 3 e-readers

5. Music recommendations! Your current obsessions or your all time favorite songs.

Aaaah….I mostly listen to Hindi music so I doubt recommending that’ll help but Taylor Swift is always in my playlist and I still can’t get enough of Blank Space and This Love.

I think I would love some recommendations instead, please let me know some guys. 🙂

6. A book you bought because of the cover?

The Selection by Kiera Cass.

7. Which book is your favorite contemporary romance?

This Book Will Change Your Life by Amanda Weaver.

I think most of the people who I know here has already done this, so if you haven’t done this yet then I nominate YOU! 🙂

And for the questions, fell free to choose any questions among these 14 and don’t forget to link me back so that I get to read your answers!

Questions by Analee from BookSnacks

1. What is your favourite book-to-film adaptation OR what is a book/series you would like to see as a movie?

I’m gonna answer both. My favourite book-to-film adaptation is Harry Potter and I would love to see the House of Night series (by P.C and Kristen Cast) to turn into a movie. It would be much more awsome if it actually turned into a tv series.

2. If you could jump into any bookish world, where would it be? Why?

I would love to jump into the world of witches and wizards, c’mon who wouldn’t want to live in the magical world of Hogwarts.

3. Who is your favourite author and why? (You can name more than one if you want.)

Dan Brown is my favourite author. I recently answered this here.

4. What is your most prized book?

I love all my books to death, equally. It would to unfair to them if I picked out just one.

5. What character from a book would you like to meet, and why?

Only one! ~puts on a cute pouty face~ There are so many characters that I would simply love to meet, this is officially one of the most difficult question on earth.

6. What is/are your favourite quote(s)?

There are too many.

Two of my favourites are-

“We all know art is not the truth.
Art is a lie that makes us realise the truth,
Atleast the truth that is given us to understand.”

-Picasso

and

Coraline sighed, “You really don’t understand, do you?” she said. “I don’t want whatever I want. Nobody does. Not really. What kind of fun would it be if I just got everything I ever wanted? Just like that, and it didn’t mean anything? What then?”

-Coraline by Neil Gaiman

7. What quality do you appreciate in a character?

I love when the characters are compassionate, they have an inner strength and when we can identify ourselves with them.

8. What are three books you can’t live without?
