Anybody home? // Trying to come back to the blogosphere once more

I tend to disappear more than I want to. 😦

I last popped back in September and I really, really wanted to be consistent but I am appalled at how inconsistent I can be.  Although, there were multiple reasons (not trying to give excuses here, but I genuinely lost all motivation) that pushed me back.

  • My work life. I switched into freelancing which did give me a lot of freedom, however, took it away as well. I dunno. Work pressure is weird in freelancing and I couldn’t balance my time for blogging. I felt like I was always tired and even if I had the time, I couldn’t get up to do anything. Though I feel after a little less than a year in freelancing, I have started to get the hang of it.
  • My mental health went haywire. The pandemic was definitely to blame along with a variety of personal reasons which drained me of any energy. I struggled a lot with motivation to do basically anything so I had to take help. A lot better now but it’s life. It’ll keep throwing curveballs and I have to learn to work alongside it.

  • Multi-tasking. This has always been an issue for me. I have tried scheduling posts and it has worked but then it hasn’t. So I am going to try to post 3-4 times a month and if not possible, I am not going to beat myself up for it.
  • I got back into reading. My biggest letdown in 2019 was I barely read. The pandemic did provide me with the chance to pick up my reading habit as well. Definitely not aiming for 100 books like I used to, however, will definitely be happy with a half-century! Or less. I am just so glad I have started reading regularly again.
  • Trying to be more self-aware and empathetic. This year has definitely taught me a lot. Thankfully, I have pretty awesome friends who have been a great support system. So being more kind and understanding adds up to the list as well.
  • So basically I am a work in progress! Hoping to be consistent this time since I cannot for the love of anything, leave this blog behind.

If you have stayed and read this far, a genuine thank you from the bottom of my heart. 💜

Hello from the other side. If anybody’s still out there, how have you been doing?

What Blogging means to me! || Two Years Blogiversary and Giveaway!

Hey there guys!!

I can’t believe it has already been two years (on 2nd March actually)! I have been actually been blogging for two freaking whole years and I looove it so much! It wouldn’t have been possible without you guys.

Blogging has taught me so much. Here are just a few reasons why I love blogging so much-

  • I finally feel like I belong somewhere. Before I started blogging I barely had anyone to talk to or fangirl about books but now I have you guys. I love sharing my opinions and listening to what you guys have to say.
  • I had never been a voracious reader, I don’t think I even crossed 10 books a year but that also changed, it’s always more than 100 now! 😀
  • I expanded my reading horizons. I stepped outside my comfort level and tried reading books from various genres, loved some, hated some but they were definitely an experience I would never forget.
  • Writing reviews, discussion posts makes me feel so satisfied and at a kind of peace. Do you guys feel the same way?
  • I also found out about about NaNoWriMo while I was blogging which inspired me and challenged me to take my writing seriously.
  • Lastly, this blogging community is epic! I don’t know where I would be without you guys. So, as a token of my appreciation, I have organised a giveaway! Yup! (And it’s also opened internationally!)

I’m participating in NaNoWriMo!

Hey guys, how are you all doing?

November is sooo close now, so I wanted to give you guys an update about the project that I’m going to be doing in November’s NaNoWriMo. I’m so freaking excited as well as equally nervous about it! Those who don’t know what NaNoWriMo is, it’s  the national novel writing month where you have to reach a goal of 50k to win.

I am, however, not aiming for 50k because this is going to be my first time participating here after Camp NaNo in July. Camp was a success for me and I enjoyed it soo much but there wasn’t a set word count goal to reach like November’s NaNo, so I am going to try my best to keep up but I am not going to force myself.

Okay, so I digress. I haven’t even told you guys what I am going to write! I have titled my novel Crown’s Bane (and I love it!) I am going to write a YA fantasy for the first time in my life! (Too many exclamations, I know!!) It’s going to be a retelling of the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs but of course with a twist.

Here’s the blurb for Crown’s Bane:

Seventeen-year-old Liliana has always been different from everybody, never understanding, never quite fitting in and there’s always that voice in her head.

When her best and only friend is captured, she is thrust into the mystical realm of Illudere. With an unlikely ally, she begins her quest to rescue Bert but in order to do so, she has to survive the dangerous creatures lurking in the shadows. When she comes face to face with a horrific truth about herself, she has to make the utmost decision but what if fate has something else entirely planned for her?

I finally started using Pinterest and it’s sooo fun! I believe these two clips define a lot of my novel.

So that’s it! Oh and feel free  to add me as your buddy. My username is DaydreamingBooks. I’ll be sure to add you back!

Let's Chat

So guys are you participating in November’s NaNoWriMo? Are you a plotter or a panster or maybe a bit of both like me? Are you excited to work on your project? Are you going to be editing or working on something entirely new? Share your thoughts with me!

Daydreaming Books Turns One! || Plus Some Screaming and Stuff!

Heeeeey guys!!

So Daydreaming Books finally turned one!! Yaaayiee! I am sooo happy!

But apparently it was on 2nd March. 😛 Somehow I managed to miss that. Actually, I have a quite legit reason. I have been so stressed out about my family, studies, exams and everything, my life was pretty much a mess, so I guess it slipped. But slowly things are improving now.

Nonetheless, I can’t believe that my blog has turned one!! *flails* It seemed only yesterday that I started blogging. I still feel like a newbie sometimes. I’m so grateful to you guys for warmly welcoming me to this bookish community and for staying by my side throughout one whole year! I have made so many great friends since I started blogging and a special hug to all my followers! You guys rock! ❤

I hope you all continue this journey with me and I hope I can do a lot better as a blogger. Also, I want to host a giveaway for this occasion. Yipee! I might probably do that in April, so look out for that! Thank you once again guys!

Now on a serious note, can I scream a little bit? My final exams starts in 15 days and we still received a huge bundle of notes today, now that I look at the total bundle, it’s soooo thick!! I don’t know how I’m gonna manage. Pretty much everyone in our tution was acting a bit crazy… So am I okay?

To get into the master’s degree program I have to do well do maintain an overall fair percentage. *sighs* Wish me the best guys! I really hope everything turns out well!

I’ll stop the screaming and stuff now. Sooo… stay safe and stay bookish! ❤

2015 in review!

The stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A New York City subway train holds 1,200 people. This blog was viewed about 5,100 times in 2015. If it were a NYC subway train, it would take about 4 trips to carry that many people.

Click here to see the complete report.

Thank you sooo much people! ❤

So these are my favourite reads for this year. Do we have any book in common? If yes, then which are those? And if not, then what were your favourites?

Hey! I don’t know about you! I’m feeling… 21 actually!

So…I’m officially 21 now! Time’s really flying by, isn’t it? 😉 It feels so exiting as well as terrifying! Well, I’ll think about that tomorrow, the day’s over for me now (26th Sep) as it’s already past midnight here.

I totally had an awsome birthday this year! I didn’t celebrate the last 2-3 years but this time my mom was firm on the decesion that she was going to celebrate no matter what. And I was super happy!

I started my morning by watching The Scorch Trials in the theatre. The film was ASDFLKHFHDFG AWSOOOOME!! I heard that it had quite differed from the book but nonetheless it was enjoyable amd entertaining. And hell it was. I was thinking okay, I can breath now and then BOOM! another explosive scene was thrown in the way. And can we talk about Dylan O’Brien, oh I just looooove him! *swoons all over again* This is the first time my parents allowed to me to go to the movies all alone, I don’t have any friends here who enjoy these kind of movies and frankly, my parents don’t like these kind either. So I was left alone, but I’m glad I got to spend some quality time with Dylan *coughs* I mean Thomas alone. 😛

I had a small celebration. In the evening my friend, Riya came along with her family. She got me this awsome hand drawn card and a framed picture of us (the right one is me looking all weird and silly!). Looking at this picture always makes me smile, we had an awsome time that day, we were laughing and talking and I was clicking random shots and some were pretty hilarious! I’m glad one of the moment is captured and framed forever. Her dad is an executive chef, so the yummilicious birthday cake was exclusively from them. It was sooo heavenly tasty! 🙂

Two of my neighbours also came and they gifted me this beautiful vase. And my parents gifted me a beautiful dress which I wore in the evening along with two books! (listed below)

Book buys from July – September!

My parents gifted me Prodigy and Champion by Marie Lu. And the last 4 books are actually the gifts from college for my result in first year. I’m excluding the ebooks from this list because it’s really too many, so I’m gonna do a seperate post for that later. 🙂

So I’m gonna wrap up now. Hopefully you guys had an awsome day as well! Good night and stay bookish.

I reached the triple number!

PicsArt_1435830797538 Hey there bookish people!

I REALLY CAN’T BELIEVE I REACHED 100 FOLLOWERS! Okay, okay, I should calm downPicsArt_1435830873232 and stop shouting but really I can’t wipe off this stupid smile from my face. To be honest I never thought I would reach 100, 30 or 40 maybe but not 100, that also in a short span of time! This became possible for you guys. I love you guys so much, thank you for supporting me and following me. This really, really means a lot to me. ❤ I will try to be more consistent and “more me” from now onwards.

I was in a dilemma before opening the blog because college life is pretty hectic, I didn’t think I would be able to keep up but in a sudden impulse I started this blog (that’s why the huge crazy and weird domain name!) and I don’t regret it, not even a bit. Because I have gained so many good friends during these 4 months. I really don’t have anyone in my real life who actually understands my crazy passion for books but now I have so many of you with whom I get to share my craziness and fangirling together is like an added bonus with a cherry on top. 😀

Once again,

(Disclaimer: Pictures taken from brother Google. 😛 )
