Final Update: I freaking won Camp NaNoWriMo!!

Hey guuuuuys! How are you all doing?

You can check out my week 1 update here and week 2 update here.

So it’s obvious now what I want to say, I won Camp NaNoWriMo guys! ๐Ÿ˜€ I can’t be any happier! I seriously feel so good. I knew I was going to have a super busy day today, so yesterday night, precisely after 12, (so it can be kinda counted as today!) around 3 am I started writing and I finished at 5 in the morning! (My mind works super fast after 12!) Suddenly all the words were flowing and I couldn’t stop writing and that ultimately led me to cross my Camp goal!

My original goal was 15k, but after reaching that goal, I increased it to 25k. In July, I started a new course, had 6 hours of class in the weekends, taught my (freaking monkey) students, read quite a few books and wasted some unnecessary time. With all of these alongside with me, I think I did good for a first timer! Though my project is only 50% complete, I plan to continue writing in August and finish my firstest first draft!

But seriously, participating in Camp NaNoWriMo was the best decision ever! I had so much fun, my camp buddies were pretty awesome and we had a blast! And Camp seriously helped my motivation to keep writing! with We also have a group in Quip where we have sprint charts and stuff, so I guess I’ll be lurking around there as well in August. Overall, I had a great experience, I’ll be definitely participating in November, although I’m not quite sure about it but I’ll give it a go! Can’t wait for another Camp next year!

So guys, did you participate in Camp NaNoWriMo? Did you succeed in reaching your goal? How was your overall experience?

Week 2- Camp NaNoWriMo Update! And plans for Week 3!

Hey guys! How are you all doing this week?

This post is going to be pretty short as I’ll give a quick update about how I’m faring in Camp NaNoWriMo so far. To read about my previous week’s update and my novel’s blurb (well… kind of), you can click here.

So as I told you guys earlier, week 1 was pretty good for me. I have already reached my minimal goal of 15K. So I’ve updated my goal to 25K now. It’s not much but I’m willing to push myself further.

Also, previously I was writing from a single POV though a second POV was thrown in between at regular intervals. But then I noticed that it was kind of becoming monotonous plus I’ve seen most of the NA novels have alternating point of views. I understood that why more deeply. Therefore I made a few changes which actually helped me. I was stuck but due to this change I was successful in outlining most of my chapters yesterday night. Only a few are left! ๐Ÿ˜€

But this week’s progress has been slow as I couldn’t write these past 3 days as I’ve been quite sick but I’m feeling better now so I’m going to get back to writing today.

My plans for week 3 is…. to write of course! But progress is going to be slow as well because I have a big test this upcoming Friday and I’ve got a loooot of studying to do but I have got the last week free, so I mostly plan to catch up on that week but I’m going to try my best and continue writing as much as possible this week!

Are you participating in Camp NaNoWriMo this month? How’s your writing coming along? Have you face any difficulties along the way? If yes, then how have you overcome it?

Week 1- Camp NaNoWriMo Update!

Hey guys, how are you all doing? ๐Ÿ™‚

This post is going to be short as I’ll be giving only a short update about Camp NaNoWriMo.

This is the first time that I’m participating in Camp NaNoWriMo. If you don’t know what it is, then let me tell you briefly. Camp NaNoWriMo is held in April and July. Anyone can join who loves to write. We can set any goal that we want to reach and write according to our own pace and we are also assigned cabins (optional) where we can talk and discuss various things with other writers. So that’s about it!

I didn’t like my first cabin much, it was all too quite and inactive but then I saw Shay’s post where she wrote she was looking for cabin members. It was already three days since camp started but luckily there was still a spot available and I got in. And seriously that cabin is awesome! Oh and now some update about my writing. I can’t begin to tell you how great it feels to write again. I stopped for about a year or two but now I hope I can carry on and fit it into my daily routine. I didn’t know what was going to happen so I had set my goal to 15,000 but I have already crossed 11K today! ๐Ÿ˜€ I feel so happy. I might just increase my goal. Though I’m a little stuck but I hope I can figure that out by tomorrow.

Now it’s time for the blurb-

Antara shifts to a new house as her mom decides to get remarried. Her step-father offers her his old house which he doesn’t use anymore. When she steps inside, she gets the shock of her life as a guy is already living there and she finds it is none other than her school crush, Joshua.

They both decide they’ll try to live in the same house if they can keep out of each other’s way. But staying in the same house as her crush turns out to be quite difficult but she knows she’s way out of his league. Will she be able to tell him about her real feelings, ever? Can anything be remotely possible between a Bong and a Brit?

Please don’t judge. I’m terrible at writing blurbs or short synopsis’. Oh and it’s called Chasing Love… for now!ย it’s a NA love story between a Bengali and a British. My sappy hopeless romantic side of me wanted to start with this idea that I had for about 10 million years… or so, so I’m finally giving this a try!

So what do you think about it? Are you participating in Camp NaNoWriMo? Is it your first time too? How has been your writing week so far?

Monthly Wrap Up: June 2016!

Helloooo there people!

Sooo another month flew by! Can you believe we are already halfway through 2016! It’s crazy! Nonetheless, bookishly this month was okay, I did have some great reads but many turned out to be just okay or simply meh! So, here are the list!

Books I’ve read this month (Link to Goodreads):

1. All the Feels by Danika Stone– This was a cute read although some parts did feel a bit too much sometimes otherwise the all fandom craziness was pretty nice to read about.

2. Lessons of the Heart by Jodie Larson– Eh… this book was meh! And kind of weird. Although I love forbidden romance, it’s my most favorite trope but I felt it wasn’t done alright in this book due to which it ultimately failed to impress me.

3. Ivory and Bone by Julie Eshbaugh– This was very different and one that I liked. It dealt with the life of pre-historic people, similar to that of Ice Age and it was pretty interesting.

4. The Secret Life of a Dream Girl by Tracy Deebs– Oh this was sooo cute! I loved this one. The characters were so great as well as the romance!

5. Finding London by Ellie Wade– It was okay read for me this month. I can’t totally deny that I didn’t enjoy it cause I did but there were some portions which just didn’t sit well with me.

6. Say Something by T.A. Roth– This was an engaging read, I loved the characters and how the story flowed out and I really, really need the next because because of that cliffeeeee!!

7. The Curse of Damini by Debajani Mohanty– This was a powerful read, it dealt with the condition of the women in India before its Independence till the current timeline. And it was also entangled with a mysterious aspect which made the story an interesting read.

8. Just a Girl by Ellie Cahill– Another okay read for me. Although the plot had potential but it didn’t ย live up to my expectations. The decisions of the main protagonist was getting on my nerves and sometimes it was too much.

9. A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas– Do I need to say anything for this one because it was freaking awesome! I NEED THE NEXT BOOK NOW!!

10. Turning Grace by J.Q. Davis– My first zombie read. I think. I enjoyed this book except the zombishly eating habits of the main protagonist which was EW! Nonetheless, I’m definitely interested in continuing with this series.

11. Life After Juliet by Shannon Lee Alexander– Another cute read! *sighs* This book was pretty great and I loved each and every aspect of this book plus it had a whole lot of awesome characters!

12. City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare– I LOVED this one! It was so great and exciting. At first I was reading this a bit slowly and then I couldn’t stop and finished it in 2 days! I’m currently reading the last one in this series and I’m loving it so far. I can’t believe I’ll finally finish this series! This thought is exciting as well as sad because I love this series sooo much and I don’t want it to end!

13. The Masterpiecers by Olivia Wildenstein– This was a very, very different read but it was pretty unique as well which made it intriguing and I definitely want to see where the next book takes me!

14. Change Places with Me by Lois Metzger– This was a weird read, I didn’t get much of what was happening. I’ll talk more about it in the review next month.

15. Running Back To Him by Evelyn Rosado– I loved this one. It had the best friends to lovers trope which is my second favourite trope and I loved the characters and how the story was executed.

Life Updates-

I shared a bit of what was happening in my life inย this post. Other than that everything is going okay, I have started studying again and it actually feels good. And well… life’s going on. ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh and I’ve also decided to participate in Camp NaNoWriMo this July. Although I do have a big exam this month but I’ll have exams regularly now so I just have to create some time to continue writing. This will be my first time and I’m freaking nervous as well as a bit excited. Any other newbies like me?

I have waited for Illuminae for sooo long because the price was crazy high for this book and I coudn’t buy it but the price lowered a bit just for one day, I was so freaking lucky I checked Amazon at 3 am that night otherwise I would have missed this deal. I kind of shrieked! Very loudly. (I might just have woke up the neighbours!)ย But c’mon I was ecstatic! ๐Ÿ˜€ And I haven’t read any books by Emery Lord yet but I always wanted to. So figured it was time to start with When We Collided. And the rest of the three books-ย Passenger by Alexandra Bracken, Half Bad by Sally Green and This Song Will Save Your Life by Leila Sales are graduation presents from my parents and of couse I gifted myself as well! ๐Ÿ˜›

Aaaaand that’s a wrap up! โค

So guys, how was your month? Was it bookishly great or just okay? Leave a link to your wrap up post and I’ll be sure to visit! Or you can let me know in the comments!
