After Lily’s last battle at Salem which left scarred and very weak, she and Rowan both managed to world jump and return to Lily’s world. But Lillian wants her to come back and the police were looking for her here, she is not safe in either of the worlds. When she begins to learn the shocking secrets of Lillian, she is forced to make a choice which will ultimately lead her to freedom or her own doom.

Firewalker is considerably slower than the first book, Trial by Fire but I was thoroughly entertained throughout the book and the plot kept me engaged till the very end. After fighting with Lillian which left Lily in a pretty bad condition, she along with Rowan are successful in returning to Lily’s own home. I actually quite enjoyed their time in Lily’s world. It acted as a buffer to what happened and what was about to come. Rowan was completely foreign to technologies and stuff like that and it was pretty enjoyable to watch him adapt in this world.

In this book, Lily finally but reluctantly opens her mind to Lillian and she decides to keep it from Rowan which leads to some major drama in the latter half of the book. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed the romance in this book, I absolutely loved Lily and Rowan together, although I did want Lily to be more open with Rowan and she went on making the same mistake as Lillian. When Rowan found out the truth, I understood his initial reaction but what he did later, I really, really hated him for that.

The world-building in this book was amazing, we got to explore a bit of the both worlds and it was really stunning. Two more characters are introduced in this book Breakfast and Una who become Lily’s mechanics along with Lily’s Tristan. It felt a little unrealistic how easily they believed Lily’s truth. Anyway, I was really worried about Lily’s feelings but I was so glad and veeeery relieved to see that she was not torn between two guys as it usually happens. As much as I didn’t like Tristan in the beginning, he slowly warmed up to my heart but that ending!! I couldn’t believe it, it came off just freaking nowhere and left me heartbroken.

Overall, Firewalker was a good read, albeit not as exciting as the first book but it still was an engaging read. As usual, I loved Lily and Rowan and my faith in Rowan kinda shook after what he did. Nonetheless, the writing was beautiful and pace was even throughout the book.
