Lana
I knew it would end in disaster, but I didn’t listen to reason. I didn’t care. Because I loved him so much.
Kalvin Kennedy ruled my heart.
Until he destroyed it.
Shattered it so completely that I became someone else. Someone I loathed. Someone who repeatedly lied to her loved ones.
So, I ran.
From him. From myself. Desperate to hide my new reality.
But I could only run so far.
When he reappears in my life, I’m terrified. Unbelievably scared of facing the consequences of my actions.
Never mind that I still love him and want him so badly—there’s too much at stake now.
How can I trust him with the biggest secret of all when he’s likely to rip my world apart again?

Kalvin
Lana was always far too good for me. Everyone knew it but her.
I tried to stay away, but I was weak.
And I hurt her.
Crushed her until she barely resembled herself. Forced her to follow a path she would never have willingly chosen.
And then she was gone.
And my world has never felt as empty, as lonely.
She begged me to stay away. Not to find her. To forget she ever existed.
But that’s like asking me to slice my heart in two and toss half aside.
I’ve never believed in fate, but when I rock up to the University of Florida, I’m ready to eat my words.
Because she’s here. Like I hoped she would be. And I’m determined to prove I deserve a second chance.

A friends-to-lovers second-chance romance from USA Today bestseller Siobhan Davis. Standalone with HEA and no cliffhanger.

Oh, I was sooo excited for this book, especially because the glimpses of what we saw of Kalvin and Lana in the Finding Kyler trilogy was tempting enough and this was such a whirlwind ride and I’m glad this book didn’t disappoint.

Even after every thing that has happened, Kalvin decided not to give up on Lana. Lana can’t forgive herself for falsy accusing Kalvin of rape by coming under the influence of Addison. Kalvin understood how far he pushed her to take such a drastic step but the past won’t leave them alone so easily. And when a shocking truth is revealed, will they be ever able to move forward together?

This book was so freaking good! I enjoyed the plot so much. When we got introduced to Lana in the Finding Kyler trilogy, she came forward as a sweet and innocent girl and when she did the horrendous crime of falsy accusing Kalvin of such a major crime like rape, I was enraged. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Even if she did confess in front of the court that she was wrong and she lied, it wasn’t easy to forgive her but Kalvin knew her better than anyone. He knew how much he had hurt her in the past. Kalvin and Lana had a past and when they come face to face again, at first it becomes an awkward/guilt fest before either of them can move forward.

Lana was truly repenting, if even Kalvin forgave her, she couldn’t forgive herself. You can’t help but love Lana, Addison played her well just like she did with Kyler. But after the twist is revealed, I empathised with her more. I could understand where she was coming from but even after all the things that happened, she should have told Kalvin the truth a little earlier. She tried but just couldn’t utter it and I kind of understand that too. I felt bad for her, although she tried her best to make up for what she did, she was constantly attacked and verbally abused, she didn’t deserve that much hate though.

As their story moves forward, more of their past is revealed and anybody would empathise with Lana. Kalvin did a number on her and even after everything, she couldn’t stop loving him. I loved that Kalvin finally wanted to fight for what he wanted and he didn’t give up. They had explosive chemistry and their relationship slowly builds up all over again and the romance was just sooo good!! When the things blow up towards the end, Lana handled everything so maturely and even Kalving followed her lead, I was glad how the ending wrapped up.

Overall, Loving Kavin was a great read. The plot was executed neatly and I loved each and every moment of it though the middle did become a little monotonous sometimes. The chemistry between the two main characters was just everything, I shipped them so much! The writing was smooth and flowed smoothly and the pace was even throughout the book. This book also ended with a glimpse of Saving Brad and I have a feeling it’s going to epic!!! I sooo can’t wait for it!

**********

Please note this series is only suitable for readers age 17+ due to mature content and themes. The first three books in this series must be read together but, thereafter, every book will work as a standalone with an HEA and no cliff hanger.

This book was a wild ride and I am so glaaaad it lived up to my expectations. You can read my review of book 1: Finding Kyler, here and book 2: Losing Kyler, here.

Losing Kyler ended with another cliffhanger and I’ve waiting to get my hands on this book ever since. After finding out another shocking family evidence, Kyler takes off on his own leaving Faye in the darkness but she is not going to give up on him so soon. But fate keeps throwing them one blow after another, will their love for each other be strong enough to hold them together or will it lead them to their ultimate downfall?

“They are far from perfect, but they’re my far from perfect.”

The plot was unpredictable yet again. I was continuously on the edge and I couldn’t stop reading this book. After Kyler hears overhears another shocking truth which involves him, he takes off without thinking. What he did was reckless but I agree with Ky, it needed to be done and the chaos that followed would have happened one way or another. But he shouldn’t have kept Faye in the dark. One thing that I love about Faye is her ability of not giving up on the people she loves and trusts them. She didn’t leave his side for one second and stood there as a shield in front of Ky.

We got to see another side of Addison in this book but one way or another, she is a hell lot of twisted. Courtney is crazy, I knew that but I didn’t imagine her crazy could reach that level. Some parts felt a bit repetitive but other than that I have no complaints. This book also highlighted the fact that not only women but men could be the victim of sexual abuse as well and when I read about the particular aspect in this book, it broke my heart.

“Your scars, your flaws, your fears, your pain – they’re mine too.”

Faye and Kyler together are just indestructible. Their love for one another is so strong and they both are always ready to lay down, even their lives for one another. Their chemistry intensified much more in this book and I loved the romance between them, so freaking much! Kyler is such a romantic, he even became te mushy-gushy type but he was proud of it, now tell me who doesn’t want a guy like that? ❤

Siobhan’s ability to wrap up so many loose ends flawlessly together continues to amaze me. I mean a shitload of things went down in this book but the way they were all wrapped up in the end, I was satisfied yet in need of more and I’m glad we’ll be getting more of them in the future.

Overall, Keeping Kyler was a great read. It was hard to put in down and the plot was executed neatly. I fell in love with the characters even more in this book and I just can’t get enough of Faye and Kyler together. The writing was smooth and easy to read and the pace was even throughout the book. I can’t wait for Loving Kalvin!! We’ll finally get to see Kalvin and Lana, I’m sooo excited!

Blurb (from Goodreads):

Condemned to repeat the sins of the past…

Faye thought losing her parents was the most devastating thing to happen to her, but she was wrong. Her uncle’s scandalous revelation has sent her into a tailspin, leaving her questioning her entire existence.

Everything she believed is built on a lie.

And the one person she shares a passionate, soul-deep connection with can’t be there for her.

Faye and Ky can’t be together. It’s forbidden. Though they are determined to avoid replicating their parents’ mistakes, caving to their feelings is as tempting as the apple in the Garden of Eden.

Ky had sworn off girls until Faye bulldozed her way into his life. Now, she’s his whole world, and their forced separation is crushing him. Once his manipulative ex resurfaces—hell-bent on ruining the Kennedys—he’ll do whatever it takes to protect his loved ones including turning his back on the one person he can’t live without.

Then tragedy strikes and all bets are off.

But is it too late?

When Faye needs him and he isn’t there for her, guilt and hurt threaten to obliterate their love. As they start to rebuild their fractured hearts, another sordid family secret is uncovered, and Faye worries Ky may be lost to her forever.

But can you truly lose someone if they don’t want to be found?

Oh my gosh! Losing Kyler was such a roller coaster ride! It was epic and heartbreaking at the same time. You can read my review of book 1: Finding Kyler, here.

*A little spoilery for those who have yet to read book 1.*

This book picks up right where it left off. After James drops the father bomb upon Faye, everything becomes far more complicated in their life. The more they try to come up with a solution, the more their problem entangles them. But when a new truth is revealed, it’s up to Kyler and Faye to decide what to do with the truth, face it or run from it.

As always, Siobhan managed to surprise the heck out of this book as well. Something or the other kept happening which made it difficult to put this book down. The plot was absolutely unpredictable which kept me on my toes. After Faye learns that James could be her father instead of just uncle, it complicates the relationship between her and Kyler. Their chemistry was off the charts and it was a struggle for both of them to be apart from one another.

He’s like my own personal kryptonite.

But seriously, the Kennedys are one big messed up family but despite that, I loved the relationship between the brothers and how much they cared for each other despite their inner demons. I really, really hated Addison. I mean how can be a person this low? She is definitely onto something big and I can’t wait to find out about it in the final book of this series. The way she manipulated the situation of Kalvin really pissed me. I hope she gets what she deserves. Among the brothers, I seriously loooove Keaton, he is such a good friend to Faye but I’m really looking forward to reading Kalvin’s story as well.

I enjoyed how the plot was executed. The constant drama and the unexpected plot twists kept me thoroughly entertained. I loved the romance between Faye and Kyler but it felt that their relationship moved nowhere and I wanted more of that. Nonetheless, I was glad to finally know Faye’s whole truth and I hope she gets some closure. But that last plot twist seriously shocked me! I didn’t even see that one coming.

Overall, Losing Kyler was a great read! I enjoyed it so much. I loved how the plot was executed and I enjoyed the character growth. The chemistry between Kyler and Faye was undeniable. The writing was smooth and the pace was even throughout the book. I can’t wait to see how everything goes down in the final book of Kyler and Faye. I’m so freaking excited for it!

Blurb (from Goodreads):

Two fractured hearts and a forbidden love they can’t deny.

You shouldn’t want what you can’t have…

Faye Donovan has lost everything. After her parent’s tragic death, she’s whisked away from her home in Ireland when an unknown uncle surfaces as her new guardian.

Dropped smack-dab into the All-American dream, Faye should feel grateful. Except living with her wealthy uncle, his fashion-empire-owning wife, and their seven screwed-up sons is quickly turning into a nightmare—especially when certain inappropriate feelings arise.

Kyler Kennedy makes her head hurt and her heart race, but he’s her cousin.

He’s off limits.

And he’s not exactly welcoming—Kyler is ignorant, moody, and downright cruel at times—but Faye sees behind the mask he wears, recognizing a kindred spirit.

Kyler has sworn off girls, yet Faye gets under his skin. The more he pushes her away, the more he’s drawn to her, but acting on those feelings risks a crap-ton of prejudice, and any whiff of scandal could damage the precious Kennedy brand.

Concealing their feelings seems like the only choice.

But when everyone has something to hide, a secret is a very dangerous thing.

******

Full of scandal, dysfunctional families, teen soap-opera-style angst and drama, secrets and lies, mean girls and catfights, lust and love, book one in the unputdownable Kennedy Boys series will have you flipping the pages’ way beyond bedtime!

Only recommended to readers aged 17+ due to mature content and language.

My Thoughts

Aaaaand the cliffhanger queen is back in action ladies and gentleman! I seriously cannot get enough of this book. Finding Kyler was sooo damn mind-blowingly good!

Faye Donovan’s world turns upside down when her parents die in a car crash, she has to take a double take on her life when she learns her new guardian would be her uncle who she never knew existed. Now Faye is thrust into the glamorous life of the Kennedys where she doesn’t feel welcome at all. But she can’t keep Kyler out of her head, how much she wants to. She knows the feelings are inappropriate as he is her cousin but when the lines blur between reality and fantasy and secrets threaten to come out of the closet, what would Faye ultimately choose?

I LOVED this book! The plot was so intriguing and I enjoyed every moment of this book. The forbidden romance enhanced the aspect of the story even more. After Faye’s parent’s death, Faye has to live under the guardianship of her uncle who has seven (freaking seven… which means more goodness to follow!) sons. Except for Keaton, none of the other brothers is that welcoming and ultimately Faye’s struggle begins to live in a whole new world than she was used to.

As a character driven book, I couldn’t be happier with the set of characters I got to read in this book. All of the characters are richly layered (no, I am not talking about my favourite dessert but the Kennedy boys can be considered close to that…) and complex and none of them are devoid of flaws I loved this fact about them.

I loved Faye, she was a strong and stubborn character and quite mature. Kyler, on the other hand, gave the vibes of a typical bad boy but I definitely loved when we got to see the other side of him. The angst was absolutely perfect and their chemistry was sky-rocketing. I LOOOVED the romance between them! I definitely had a hard time putting this book down, even when it was past 3 am.

The other characters were pretty enjoyable as well. I loved the friendship between Keaton and Faye and Kalvin was pretty fun too. I soo want to know Kalvin’s story, especially after how this book ended. And that brings me to the freaking ending which exploded in our face, just like that!! I freaking seriously can’t wait for the next book!

Overall, Finding Kyler was a fantastic read! I loved how the plot was executed and I enjoyed the character growth. The chemistry between Kyler and Faye was absolutely undeniable. The writing was smooth and the pace was even throughout the book.

Blurb (from Goodreads):

Axton’s existence was a lonely one until his mother brought Sadie into his life. Now, she’s the center of his universe, and he’ll do everything in his power to protect her.

But Griselda’s evil plans cast a dark shadow over their love, threatening the future he so desperately craves. With separation looming, Ax is preparing to sacrifice everything for the girl he loves. It’s a high-stakes gamble, and he needs to stay ahead of the game if he’s to outsmart his conniving mother.

Sadie has been his savior.

Now it’s his turn to save her.

Note from the author:

This is an optional novella in The Saven Series, however, I recommend reading it after Saven Defiance to maximize reading enjoyment.
This novella is narrated exclusively from Axton’s point of view and it details some of Ax and Sadie’s backstory. It also features some of the characters you have come to know and love from the main series.
This is not a standalone story and should only be read as part of the series.

USEEEEEEEEE

*Major spoilers for those who haven’t read the previous books in this series.*

I was a little hesitant to read this book at first seeing how Axton wasn’t my favourite character but at the same time I was curious to learn what happened back at the time when Sadie was at Tor. This book definitely didn’t disappoint.

Axton is aware of her mother’s heinous plans for Sadie. If she goes through her plan, Sadie will go through a memory wipe process before she is returned to earth for her mission to destroy Logan. But Ax and Sadie are both in love with each other and they are not ready to lose each other yet. Will Ax be able to save Sadie in time.

This book is narrated from Ax’s POV. We get to see Sadie before she was returned to earth. So many experiments were conducted on her and she had to go through tough training. Seeing Ax and Sadie together was a little weird because I can’t bear to see her with anyone except Logan. From this one thing is clear, whoever Sadie loves and cares about, she is passionately devoted to them. But I liked Ax when she was with Sadie, he was a better person with her.

Nonetheless I did like their friendship but Ax knew everything her mother was doing, maybe not the actual motive behind it but he knew everything beside that. He did try to save Sadie from his mother but I wish he had tried harder because Sadie went through a freaking lot! I loved Sadie’s friendship with Izzy and I was heartbroken to see what happened when they tried to break the rules.

But… there always remains a but when it comes to Ax, I didn’t like how he treated Sadie in the previous book, like she was something to be won over and I could see that particular voice at the end of the novella as well. Even if he becomes a martyr in the end of this series, I don’t think I will ever love this guy but this novella was definitely an interesting read and I’m glad I read it.

Overall, The Heir and the Human was a good read. I liked how everything was executed. The writing was smooth and easy to read and it was fast paced. I seriously can’t wait to read Saven Declaration!!

USEEEEEEEEE

This book killed me! This one is undoubtedly one of my favorite in this series. Gosh this was super addicting and those who haven’t started this series yet, you guys don’t know what you are missing on because this series keeps getting awesome and awesome!

*A little spoilery if you haven’t read the previous books in this series.*

Like the previous books, Saven Defiance picks up from where it was left off. Sadie has returned to earth with his Tor companions Ax and Izzy. She learns that Logan is in the clutches of Dante, his elder brother who has gone rouge and is planning a massive attack soon. She doesn’t have a clue how to handle her situation with Ax, with whom she shares a past and trust is becoming an issue among all of them. And someone is hiding a massive secret. Can Sadie save Logan in time or will she be too late this time?

The plot was just awesome! I don’t have a single complaint about this book because I was hooked from the very first page. And the massive revelations and revelations that happened took my breath away, literally! This book was filled with action, adventure and romance and I loved all of it. Sadie has returned from Tor but her friends doesn’t trust her anymore but her main focus is to rescue Logan and then deal with everything. I liked how Sadie handled things in this book, albeit sometimes it was a bit reckless but I liked it nonetheless. Something or the other kept happening throughout the book which kept me thoroughly engaged. I want to say much more but I don’t want to spoil it for you guys!

I loved Sadie as always, she is such a strong character and she cares so deeply about the people she loves. But so many things went down in this book, I almost cried and when the freaking truth about Ax was revealed I literally shouted! But I didn’t like that guy, at all. At first, I used to think that Axton might be like Zane (from the True Calling series) but this guy is a douche! Zane never forced anything on Ari but Ax, I so hate him! Logan on the other hand is a sweetheart.

“He roars laughing as he raises our conjoined hands to his lips. “Have I told you lately that I love you?”
“About ten thousand times.” I smile.
“Get used to it, Alma Sadie,” he says, tucking an errant strand of hair back into my elegantly coiffed chignon. “Because I’ll never tire of telling you.”

I chemistry between Logan and Sadie was undeniable and I absolutely loved the romance. I couldn’t believe when they decided to act upon King Coryn’s words but I loved it! All the other characters played significant roles as well and what happened to some of them was heartbreaking! What happened towards the end has me on edge, I can’t wait to know what happens next! Gosh! I need the next book right now! *sighs*

Overall, Saven Defiance was a fantastic read! I loved this book from the beginning till the end and the characters were pretty engaging. I loved the romance between Sadie and Logan but the plot twists and turns threw me off the ground! Nonetheless, this book was fast paced, just the way I like it and the writing was beautiful and smooth. I love this series so, so much and Siobhan has definitely managed to reach my list of favourite authors!

Recommend it?

YES! With my eyes closed!

Excerpt:

Note: This is an unedited excerpt and the final published version will be slightly altered.

Ax and Izzy are ascending the walkway into the belly of the ship, and I trail behind them. A welcome, familiar face is waiting to greet me at the top of the steps. Fern leans against the railing, her usual sunny face obscured behind a blanket of worry. Spotting me, she brightens for a nanosecond until she takes in my transparent ‘prisoner’ status.
She skips toward us with purpose. “What the hell?” She pierces Haydn with a murderous glare, planting her hands on her slim hips.
“Don’t. Interfere.” He growls out a warning as he pushes past her, hauling me along for the ride.
I shrug my shoulders as I eyeball my friend. “Don’t ask me for an explanation. No one is even speaking to me.”
“This is completely ridiculous, and totally unnecessary,” Fern yells as she stalks behind us like a miniature tornado.
“Babe,” Rylan says, stalling on the steps above us. “Let’s just get to the cabin and we’ll clear everything up.”
Haydn snorts and shakes his head. I deliberately impale him with my penetrating gaze, willing him to look at me so he can absorb the full glare of my frustration. But he’s as stubborn as ever, and he pretends not to feel my eyes burning a hole through the side of his skull. As I continue to stare at him—noting the ashen pallor of his skin, and how his once shorn hair has grown out, now curling and twisting around his ears and over his neck—I wonder if I’ve ever really known him at all. Or if he has ever truly known me.
Because if he did, he would know not to fear me. That there’s no need to treat me like this.

Love for Logan is her only motivation to stay alive. Saving him is the only thing that matters—the fate of the world depends upon it. While he may never forgive her, she’s determined to protect him. Until her dying breath.

Note from the author:

This continues the story from where it ended in Saven Disclosure. This is not an optional novella but an essential read if you don’t want to miss out on important plot developments. Please note there is a cliffhanger and it is not a standalone story. You will need to continue the series to find out what is next in store for Sadie and Logan.

“I’m terrified of learning the truth. About my mission. About Axton. About who I really am, and what I’m capable of doing. I’d rather stay in denial. Because if there’s one thing I’m certain of, it’s that I’m not going to like the truth of my apparent new reality.”

-Sadie

This book… I don’t what to say! But it was pretty damn explosive. This book is extremely necessary to read in this series if you want to proceed to the next one. I mean you would naturally want to because it ends with a massive cliffhanger which had me shouting WHAT!! in a loop!

Sadie has been kidnapped by the Tor where she learns a horrifying truth about herself. Can she save Logan in time? Most of all, can she save herself, at all?

This book was a whirlwind. We learned a lot of truth about Sadie and her past and her essential role in all this alien matter. Griselda, the head of the Tor was a freaking nutcase, I must say, because she was hell bent on revenge when everybody else wanted peace. And the one thing that kind of freaked me was Axton. And I really, really wish what he said about Sadie and him was false because eeeh.. I don’t know what else to think but I definitely don’t want him anywhere near Sadie though how much he claims he loves her. Nonetheless, I’m interested to find out more about that guy.

Nonetheless, I absolutely loved how everything was executed. Twists after twists kept on coming and some pretty big secrets were revealed which totally caught me off guard. Though I liked how Sadie handled things though she didn’t think much before doing anything. But it was still justifiable because she was in a totally confused mess and I could totally feel for her, especially after she discovered the truth about herself. And that ending!! My God! I mean, how? Why? I am dying to know what happens next but I’m definitely still team Logan!

Overall, Saven Denial was a great read. It was fast paced and it kept me hooked from the very first page. The plot was… once again I have to say explosive and pretty damn engaging. The writing was smooth. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book!
