Meet the Book Blogger tag!

Hey, y’all!
I have decided to do a tag after five thousand years of slumber.

Fate never seems to be on my side. I just tried to come back and boom, I fell extremely sick. Well, I was pretty much able to do nothing. At all. I was constantly dry coughing and had trouble breathing. Those weeks seems a blur right now but I hope I never have a repeat of that, ever again in this lifetime. 😭 I am quite alright now, thankfully.🤞

Anyhoooo, thanks to the lovely Marianna @ Marianna’s Corner for tagging me. Do check out her awesome blog if you already haven’t!

The rules for the tag:

    • Nominated bloggers can nominate ten other bloggers.
    • Use the same questions from the tag.

Okay, let’s shart shall we?

1. Who is your all-time favourite book character?
Okaaaay, so this is a no brainer for me. This title definitely goes to Magnus Bane, the all-time favourite glittery warlock from the Shadowhunters series (can I say that? He appears mostly in all books) by Cassandra Clare.

2. If you were stranded on a desert island, which book would you take with you? (Survival books do not count)
I would take books that I haven’t read yet. Wait, what? Only one book?
Maybe between The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon or House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas. Haven’t read any of these two so it would be a good choice hopefully. (Not that I would last a day.)

3. What’s your most unpopular book opinion?
Not liking The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater maybe. The book has great reviews and quite a lot of bloggers love it. I have tried picking up the book three times now. Somehow, I don’t find it engaging and always end up dnf-ing it.

4. What’s your weirdest bookish habit?
Sniffing books is pretty much a norm in this community so I don’t, ahh yes, I remembered I do have the habit of turning to the last page to take a sneak peek. I don’t usually read the whole thing, just the last line or so. I have tried stopping myself, it just doesn’t happen.

5. What character would you bring to a family event as your fake partner?
Can I cheat and say Magnus Bane again? CanIcanICanI?
Because he is the beeeeeeeest!
Family events would comprise of relatives, not a huge fan of those and I tend to get easily bored. I believe Magnus would be the perfect choice, he would throw glitter and add some drama. 😅

6.What made you decide to start a book blog?
It was random. If I remember correctly, it was 2 or 3 AM when I decided.
Though I have to say I was very much inspired after seeing so many book blogs, so much fangirling. I fell in love with this community and just wanted to a part of it. I didn’t have anyone with a similar book choice when I started this book and this place provided me with the chance to shout my heart out about books. Still does.

7. What about reading and books do you love the most?
Losing myself in the stories, being with the characters, sharing the journey. I fell in love with reading around the age of 9-10 and since then it has been one of my biggest route of escape from reality.

8. What is your field of study/desired profession/current profession?
Like Marianna, I want to work in publishing as an editor as well!!!

9. What are some book recommendations that became your favourites/obsessions?
I can’t remember much but I think I was recommended Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. And boy oh boy, did I love the book and whole series!

10. What is the book you shove down everyone’s throat?
The Nevernight Chronicles by Jay Kristoff. I (still) haven’t finished the trilogy but it’s EPIC!! It just is!

I tag:

  • Whoever wants to do this tag!

Hillow guys. How have you been?

We may have another lockdown in India, I dunno but everything’s a mess with the elections and the numbers are skyrocketing. I don’t know why wearing a mask is such trouble for some people. 😭 The election rallies where nobody wears a mask is definitely one of the major reasons for the increasing number of COVID cases. And also the airport scams where the authorities have actually allowed people to pass through without the one-week mandatory quarantine by getting bribes. What is even happening?

The whole country has to suffer for some people. Is the pandemic ever going to be over, with this attitude?

It’s very very frustrating and I am pretty hopeless at the moment. Everything is stuck. Life is stuck yet trudging through somehow. I haven’t felt this hopeless in my life the way I feel right now. 😦 How are you guys coping or has everything started to be better where you reside?

I haven’t been able to read or watch anything. I am trying but stopping halfway through. I don’t have the motivation to do anything and having to force myself to work. I have been trying to write a blog post for days which was definitely hindered by my illness, but half drafts are sitting and here I am, just wanting to vanish.

Definitely need some good book recommendations so I can stay rooted.

The K-Pop Book Tag!! // K-pop has taken over my life…

Finally a tag!! 😀

I know I am slagging off on a looooot of tags right now but honestly, I couldn’t resist this tag. Because K-pop is lifeu!!! ❤ It has taken over my life and I looooove BTS to death!!

Anyway, thanks to Savannah @ The Book Prophet for tagging me in the K-pop book tag! Don’t forget to ckeck out her blog guys. ❤

Rules:

BTS – A Book Everyone Knows About

Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling or Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan. I don’t think there’s anybody in this world who haven’t heard about these two series, even non-readers know the name!

EXO – Favorite Companion Novel

A Crown of Wishes by Roshani Chokshi. While A Crown of Wishes followed Maya’s life, this book focused on her sister, a.k.a Gauri’s journey. This book was definitely an interesting read, the references were relatable and it was an unpredictable read.

NU’EST – A Book/Series/Author That Doesn’t Get the Attention You Think it Deserves

The Saven series by Siobhan Davis. This series is one of the best science-fiction I have ever read, she is the queen of cliffhangers and the plot twists and turns in her books never fail to amaze me. This series definitely deserves more love.

ASTRO – A Book That Gave You a Happy Feeling When Reading

When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon. This was a pretty cute and enjoyable read.

MONSTA X – A Book Containing a Diverse Set of Characters

The ones that immediately come to my mind are Carry On by Rainbow Rowell or Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli.

A.C.E – A Favorite Recent Release

The award definitely goes to Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff. Aaaaah, this book was gorgeous from the get-go, this book didn’t fail to surprise me and that bloody ending!!!! I want book 3. Very desperately!!

BLACKPINK – A Book That Sticks Out From The Rest Of its Genre

The Nevernight Chronicles by Jay Kristoff. Although the character is a young-adult, this series definitely breaks the stereotype that’s been attached to YA and that makes it a splendid read.

SEVENTEEN – A Book With Multiple POVs

The Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo. Though I haven’t read it yet but it’s next on my list!!

BIGBANG – A Modern Classic

Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. Need I say anything more?

SISTAR – Series You Wish Never Ended

The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare or just the Shadowhunter universe in general. I love this world too freaking much. And I think I’ll forever be biased towards TMI, it was too much of a special read for me.

RAIN – Favorite Stand-Alone

I’m a series junkie… but I still got a few favourites. Some of them are Bully and Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas, Holding Court by K.C. Held, How to Say I Love You Out Loud and How to Keep Rolling After a Fall by Karole Cozzo and Attachments by Rainbow Rowell.

Nooooow, onto the tagging part (I’m very bad at this though…). I tag-

And as always, feel free to avoid it if you have already done the tag or don’t want to! 🙂

So guys, are you into K-pop?? If yes, who’s your favourite? Aaaand, who’s your bias? Have you read any of the books on my list?? Are any of them your favourite??

The Ultimate Game of Thrones BOOK TAG & The Unique Blogger Award!!

Credit: Source

Thank you so much, Juhi @ Girl Who Reads for tagging me in The Ultimate Game of Thrones BOOK TAG! Go check out her blog people!

Confession time!! I never watched GoT before this year. *gasp* I know, shush… I started watching since the middle of June on a whim and I was hooked from episode 1, and now I only have already finished season 6, so I’ll probably start watching season 7 from today!! I’m sooo freaking excited!! But binge watching was seriously fun! Now, onto the tag…

Rules:

  • Mention the creator: Orang-utan Librarian.
  • Answer ALL of the questions.
  • Be a Lannister and pay your debts, tag people and keep it going!

PART ONE: BOOK QUESTIONS!

1. We do not sow – A book you would not be willing to invest in:

The Heir by Kiera Cass. I recently finished the Selection trilogy and for me, it was a meh read, this series has been collecting dust on my shelf for more than a year after I read book 1, so I decided to finish with America and Maxon’s story but I have no interest in knowing about their daughter and the same thing all over again. Once was enough for me.

2. Fire and blood – A book that produced strong emotions in you:

Bully by Penelope Douglas. I read this back in February and I remember what a heap of a mess I was while reading this book.

3. Winter is coming – Your favourite winter read:

Everything, Everything by Nichola Yoon. This book was just adorable and I fangirled so much. The chemistry between the two main leads was just awesome! You can read my review here.

4. Family. Duty. Honour – A book about strong family ties:

I have to go with Lady Midnight or Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare on this one. This book not only has an epic romance but it deals with so much of the family aspect. I fell in love with Julian more and more and I loved how he took care of his brothers and sisters. You can read my review Lady Midnight, here and Lord of Shadows, here.

5. Growing strong – A book you had low expectations of but grew on you:

The Perfectly Imperfect Match by Kendra C. Highley. The book I read before this one was pretty meh, so I kept my expectations low for this one but ended but absolutely falling in love with it. You can read my review here.

6. Ours is the fury – A book that made you furious:

Red Days by M.L. Sparrow. Well, this book was pretty good, but it was based on true incidents about the Dolphin slaughter in Japan which still happens pretty much to this day, it made me so much angry that someone could do that to dolphins. It is simply, utterly disgusting. You can read my review here.

7. Unbowed, unbent, unbroken – A book you have an unwavering devotion to:

I think I have to go with The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare on this one. ❤ I love this series to death!! I will always have a special place for this series in my heart, just like my Winchesters. You can read my review here.

8. A Lannister always pays his debts – A book you feel indebted to:

The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum. This was the first book that sparked my interest for reading.

PART 2: FAN THEORIES

Who do you want to win Game of Thrones?

I seriously hope it is Daenerys Targaryen with the Starks by their side.

Who do you think will make it to the end and who do you think will die?

I think Arya will live. I mean, I hope so, I love her character. And dead, maybe every freaking body? XD Maybe, Jaime Lannister will end up dead but due to a good cause I guess, because I am enjoying his character growth (though I have heard it’s rather nothing compared to the book about how his character transformed and I intend to find that out!)

PART 3: MY GAME OF THRONES

Would you win or die?

Haha! What do you think? Though I occasionally surprise myself, so I think I have a 50/50 chance.

What house are you?

House Targaryen (yay!!), according to this quiz.

Thanks to Raven @ Dreamy Addictions and Liesje @ A Thousand Lives for nominating me for The Unique Blogger Award! Don’t forget to check out their wonderful blog guys!

The Rules:

  • Share the link of the blogger who has shown love to you by nominating you.
  • Answer the questions.
  • In the spirit of sharing love and solidarity with our blogging family, nominate 8-13 people for the same award.
  • Ask them 3 questions.

Raven’s Questions:

1.What are your top three favourite books so far in 2017?

2.What inspired you to start your blog?

I practically have no bookish friends in real life, so when I found out so many people were involved in book blogging, I found this was something for me too. Blogging provided me with a wonderful platform and in the meantime, I have not only discovered so many great books but made many friends on the way too.

3.Can you name some of your favourite bloggers and explain why they are your favourites?

I am going to mention only three here because if I start, there won’t be any stopping me. 😀 Please don’t think you aren’t my favourite just because I couldn’t include you in my little list.

Raven @ Dreamy Addictions || Lauren @ SERIESous Book Reviews || Summer @ XingSings

These three have stuck with me from the very beginning. They are easy to talk to and our bookish choices match 99% of the time. I love Raven’s recommendations and most of them end up being my favourite. Lauren’s series reviews are just awesome, it makes it so easy to understand a series if I’m planning to read it and Summer’s book reviews are elaborate which makes it easy to understand if it’s usually my cup of tea or not.

Liesje’s Questions:

1. What do you like most about being a (book)blogger?

Fangirling!! Interacting with other bloggers and mostly fangirling!

2. Which bookstagram accounts are your favourite?

Darquedreamer || Reviews from a Bookworm || Readxings || My Books and Life || Booknerd Reads

3. What distracts you easily when you’re reading?

Well, usually it doesn’t anymore. I don’t switch on the internet or do any other thing when I am reading. This might be the only thing I can do without procrastinating.

Phew!! This was a loooong post! I don’t have it in me to tag anymore, so please feel free to tag yourself in you wanna do one of this or both of this! ❤

So, guys, so we have any books in common or any same favourites?

The NY Times Book Tag!

Header Image: Source

Thaaaank you so much IceBreaker 694 for tagging me for The NY Times Book Tag! I had so much fun doing this tag. Don’t forget to check out her blog guys. Now, without further ado…

What is on your nightstand right now?

22844202

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling.

What was the last truly great book you read?

Bully

Bully by Penelope Douglas was a phenomenal read!! It had the perfect amount of everything I love. Review coming soon!

If you could meet any writer – dead or alive – who would it be? And what would you want to know?

Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff, the authors of The Illuminae Files. I would absolutely love to ask them how they created the awesome universe in this series.

What books might we be surprised to find on your shelf?

23513349

Maybe Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur? I am slowly venturing into poetry. This would be my second read after The Princess Saves Herself in this One by Amanda Lovelace.

How do you organize your personal library?

Eh, I kinda do this the opposite way. From tallest to the smallest. I know. I’m weird. ❤

What book have you always meant to read and haven’t gotten around to yet?

Winner's curse

The Winner’s trilogy by Marie Rutkoski. I have the first two books in this series but I kinda never started this. But I intend to finish all the pending books in this year that I already have in my home. At least the physical copies.

Disappointing, overrated, just not good: what book did you feel you are supposed to like but didn’t?

A Thousand Letters

I thought A Thousand Letters by Staci Hart was going to be heartwrenching, instead, it turned out to be dull and boring.

What kind of stories are you drawn to? Any you stay clear of?

I absolutely LOVE fantasy and contemporary! I don’t enjoy erotica, at all. Honestly, I felt pretty bored reading the latter, it’s so not for me.

If you could require the president to read one book, what would it be?

Simon vs

Maybe Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda
by Becky Albertalli.

What do you plan to read next?

A Quiet kind of Thunder Everything everything

I am kind of conflicted between these two. HAAALP!!

I tag:

(And as usual guys, you don’t have to do this tag if you’ve already done it or simply don’t want to. And if you do, don’t forget to link me back!)

So guys, do we have any books in common? Is any of the above-mentioned books in your tbr?

Best book and/or series that you’ve read in 2016-

I’ve already mentioned my favourites on this list but here are some-

cinder & ella punk-57 df9f8-finding-kyler how to say I love you out loud holding court Illuminae

Authors that you’ve recently found and would like to read more of in the new year-

Here are some authors I am definitely looking forward to reading from:

Most anticipated book turned movie/tv show?

I’m definitely interested in watching Everything, Everything and Ready Player One!

Name a character that you wouldn’t mind sharing a kiss with at midnight (if there is one)-

One? Only one? *sighs*
Definitely Jace (from MI) or Will (from TID). ❤

What’s on your TBR for 2017? (Top 5 will suffice if it’s an extremely long list!)-

These are not essentially all 2017 releases but the ones that I’m going to read in the next year:

gemina the diabolic Red Rising 29749085 23766634

How many books do you hope to read in 2017?

Well, I crossed 100 books in 2015 and 2016, so I hope to cross that boundary again! 😀

Will you participate in the Goodreads Reading Challenge or any others (PopSugar, Read the Books You Buy, etc.)-

I am definitely looking forward to participating again in the Goodreads Challenge.

Any New Year’s Resolutions? (Bookish, blogging, and otherwise)-

Well, there are loads but I’m not going to write them down because whenever I do so, I end up not maintaining them but if it’s in my head I complete them 99.9% of the time. I know. I am weird. But well there’s one thing, I hope to continue blogging and reading as happily as ever! 😀

I am tagging-

  • Everybody! ❤

The Secret Life of a Bookblogger Tag!

PicsArt_1448460494140 Thank you so much to my wonderful bloggy friend, Raven @ Dreamy Addictions for tagging me! This one is a long due tag but as promised I’ve finally started doing them one by one. Oh and don’t forget to check out her blog which is quite awsome just like her! Now, onto the tag…

1. How long have you been a blogger?

I started blogging from March, so it’s been 9 months! WOW HOLY SHIT I DIDN’T REALISE THAT! That’s awesome, right? 😉

2. At what point do you think you will stop?

I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon. Hopefully I’ll keep blogging until I fall out of love in books and the chance of that happening is 0.000000% so yeah…

3. What is the best thing?

About blogging? This wonderful blogging community! I didn’t have a single person in my life with whom I could rave about books and fangirl with but after I started blogging, this problem vanished from my life and meanwhile I’ve also made quite a few good friends so it’s a win-win!

4. What is the worst thing? What do you do to make it okay?

I think I’m being obsessed with blogging lately and I need to control that. That’s why I made myself a rough schedule and hopefully I’ll be able to stick to that.

Also I need to resist myself and not request eARCs like crazy! Because I’ve been quite lucky enough in that department and 90% of the time my requests are granted so I’m still kinda buried under the ARC pile and I can’t get to the books which I’ve actually purchased. *SIGHS* This is really a weird problem but definitely not the worst.

And I also feel frustrated sometimes when I receive less response from the people when I’ve worked so hard for a post. So I keep reminding myself that I’m blogging for myself first.

5. How long does it take you to create/find pictures to use?

I usually Google the pictures I need but I really love editing and stuff but that’s very limited as I only have a tablet. So sometimes it might take 10-15 minutes and sometimes even more than half an hour.

6. Who is your book crush?

Dear God, there’s too many to name but here’s a small list-

  • Kaidan from the Sweet Trilogy by Wendy Higgins
  • Rhysand from ACOTAR by Sarah J. Maas
  • Jace from the Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare
  • Brax from Stupid Girl by Cindy Miles (that accent… *dies all over again*)
  • Coal from Chained by Susanne Valenti
  • Sam from Rikki by Abigail Strom
  • Zane from the True Calling trilogy by Siobhan Davis
  • Ben from This Book Will Change Your Life by Amanda Weaver

…and seriously I should stop now.

7. What author would you like to have on your blog?

EVERYBODY!

Sorry that’s the first thing that came to my mind. 😛 Well I would love to have Marissa Meyer, A. Meredith Walters, Cassandra Clare, Rainbow Rowell and the list continues.

8. What do you wear when you write your blog posts?

Really? -.-

Well, I’m mostly in pajamas and top in my house so yeah that’s it.

9. How long does it take you to prepare?

A review post mainly takes an hour to write, sometimes a bit more and then there’s pictures and links to assemble, so I’ll say 1 and a half hour to 2 hours tops! And other post like this tag took half an hour to write. So it sort of varies with the posts.

10. How do you feel about the book blogger community/culture?

I sort of already answered this in question no. 3 but I’ll say it once more, the book blogging community is freaking awsome! I wish I had discovered it sooner.

11. What do you think one should do to get a successful blog?

Remind yourself from time to time that you’re blogging for yourself. Also engage yourself in the blogging community by commenting and talking with other bloggers. And that’s a successful recipe people!

12. Who do you tag?

Feel free to ignore this guys if you’ve already done or simply don’t want to. 🙂

So that’s it guys! Have a great day ahead.

P.S. I have a very weird college, I just learnt that we have mid-term exam on 30th! YIKES!!
